Where to stay in Rebun, it's the important key to make your trip to Rebun so memorable. I hope you pick the best one suit for you and enjoy your stay. The cost of the stay varies from 4,500 yen to 35,000 yen (not exact). The inn is classified into some categories by facilities, Hotel / Ryokan / Minshuku / Youth Hostel / Pension , etc. There are 3 hotels in Rebun and the others are lodge (=inn), and 1 youth hostel, 2 condominiums, bungalow. Please be responsible for your reservation once you make a booking. Many people rush to book a hotel first because the hotels in Rebun are fully booked through the flower season. But if you are not sure you can book the transportation to Rebun, please wait, In opposite, if you failed to book a hotel 'cause it's fully booked, please try again. One week to a few days before your visit, some people cancel the hotel and the tourist companies cancel the rooms kept for their tour guest.
Look for a discount air / JR (train) / ferry / bus ticket in your home country before your departure if you are traveling on your own. You can join the tour organized by tourist company. If you haven't prepare discount ticket, to join the tour might be the cheapest way to visit. Notice!! In this case, you must choose the tour which is planned to trek. There are many tour which doesn't include trekking in schedule, only sightseeing is included, no time to trek the flower field. Added to this, the trekking tour varies in detail. Trek with the guide or without guide, the track to trek..etc. The cheapest way is of course, hitch hiking. If you have enough time to spare, try hitch. And the next, take ferry.

The transportation in Rebun Island are, city bus, taxi, car-rent, moped-rent ( 50 cc & 90 cc motor-bike), bicycle-rent. No train in this island. For further information, call tourist information counter, 01638-6-2655 ( from the mid Apr. to the mid Oct.).

If you want to make the most of your limited time, to hire taxi
is the best way. Because the place you start trekking and the
place you finish is different, and the city bus service is not
frequent. Although you can ask the driver to drive the unpaved
Rebun track, some driver refuse to. 9 seated taxi (= jumbo taxi
) can access to unpaved Rebun track. You need to make sure when
you book.

Sea-lion, exactly speaking,
is Eumetopias jubata. 'Todo' in Japanese. This is the special
product of rebun limited in the winter time. Yes, in different
place, there is different loco-food. You can taste it at the food
stand in Motochi. It taste like a whale. Seeing is believing.
If you never had them before, have a try! A chocolate freak told
me that once you taste this Rebun chocolate, you can't eat other
any more. Please check it up!
